We may be sabotaging our success without knowing until we are able to differentiate between our desires and our expectations. To illustrate this further, I'll tell you the story of James a family friend of mine. James dropped out of college for circumstances which are beyond his control. He has the desire to be an architect, he thought that was his calling, to design homes. While James was waiting for things to improve, he started cutting his friends hair, one thing led to another he became very good and popular at cutting hair, he was able to open two barber shops, was able to return to college and earned a degree in business administration instead.

Let say you desire to lose thirty pounds in three month. To lose that amount of weight in that length of time would mean going to the gym everyday, cutting off a lot of your favorite food etc. You know you can comfortably lose one half pound a week. This is the goal you should aim at. At this goal you will not fail. You are happy, and confident. Doing good, after two weeks you should tighten a little bit at a time. You may not lose thirty pound in three months, you may lose ten or twenty, but you did it. You are on your way to a permanent weight loss. This is the time to reset your goal. The important thing is that you are going to lose that thirty pound and maybe for ever because now you know how to do it.

Continue to show gratitude in every aspect of your life grateful for what.
